Satisfaction Survey: "Social Justice and Anti-Racism in Mental Health"
Course Objectives:
To analyze the historical and contemporary manifestations of racism and social injustice within mental health systems, including their impact on access to care, diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes.
To evaluate theories and frameworks of anti-racism and social justice, applying them to mental health contexts to identify and challenge systemic biases, discrimination, and disparities.
To examine the intersectionality of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, and other social identities in shaping mental health experiences and disparities
To develop strategies and interventions to promote culturally relevant trauma-informed mental health practices that prioritize equity, dignity, and respect for diversity.
To explore the role of power dynamics, privilege, and oppression in mental health research, policy, and practice, while cultivating reflexivity and accountability as practitioners and advocates for social change.
To encourage collaborative dialogue and action-oriented learning to address systemic barriers to mental health equity, advocate for policy reforms, and advance anti-racist practices within clinical settings, communities, and broader societal contexts.
